About The Position

This is a 6-month contract position for a Materials Handler/Maintenance Mechanic Level II. The role involves performing physical and administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of various items. It also includes maintaining and repairing facility structures, equipment, and grounds, such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The position requires a mix of computer work and physical activity.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or minimum of 2 years of related experience; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Computer Skills needed (Microsoft applications, etc)
• Lifting up to 35lbs as necessary.
• Mix of physical work and up to 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift Certified preferred but not needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
• Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
• Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges.
• Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift.
• Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped and received.
• Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing lines.
• Maintains and repairs the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
• Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.
• Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process.
• Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary.
• Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches.
