About The Position

We are seeking a safe-minded material handling specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to multi-task, can work comfortably on their feet all day, and is dependable. This role involves picking and packing customer orders, as well as other shipping and receiving duties. The position requires someone who is able to take direction and initiative, and is open to continuous training and development. This role can be fast-paced and involve several projects simultaneously, requiring strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Maintain a 100% SAFETY mindset at all times.
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs. (range may vary based on work assignment).
  • Ability to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
  • Ability to learn standard operating procedures acquired through on-the-job training, to include forklift operation (when applicable).
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English with proficiency.
  • Valued sense of customer service regarding all aspects of customer product handling.
  • Team-oriented approach to meeting goals, including a willingness to help out at various stations within the warehouse and cleanup of communal workspaces.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous forklift experience preferred but not required.
  • Must have a team-orientated mentality and approach to meeting goals - this includes a willingness to assist other departments throughout the facility when applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform picking, packing, counting, loading, and unloading, housekeeping and safety functions.
  • Ensure consistency in the quality of your work while meeting performance metrics in assigned work areas while ensuring customer product orders are accurate.
  • Collaborate with leaders/team members through constructive feedback to support process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Works under direct supervision and follows standard operating procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock at packing station or shipping department.
  • Adhere to the 5S program and always maintain a clean environment.
  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage (will also train on our equipment).
  • Engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers.
  • Notifying management of discrepancies, as well as identifying product with potential issues.
  • Providing support to internal departments, including Customer Service, Purchasing, Shipping, and Assembly.
