About The Position

This role is for a Materials Handler on the 3rd shift, responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of materials and components for the production/remanufacturing of railroad equipment. The position involves maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment using the 5s approach, ensuring accurate and timely receiving, storage, and delivery of parts and materials. The Materials Handler will support the production team by delivering materials to the correct locations, collaborating with other departments to resolve inventory and shipping/receiving discrepancies, and performing necessary ERP transactions. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret shipping and receiving documents, bills and inventory reports.
  • Strong attention to details, accuracy and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED or associate degree or technical certificate in logistics, supply chain or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in materials handling, shipping and receiving or warehouse operations within manufacturing.
  • Railroad, aerospace or automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving systems is a plus (FedEx, UPS, XPO, etc.).
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
  • Receive, inspect and document incoming shipments.
  • Perform accurate cycle counts and maintain inventory records.
  • Pull, pack and stage materials and customer orders for shipment.
  • Process shipping and receiving labels and documentation for FedEx, UPS, LTL, and freight carriers.
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other materials handler equipment.
  • Deliver materials to production areas in a timely manner.
  • Perform necessary ERP transactions in Oracle.
  • Support other materials-handling functions as needed to meet production and shipping deadlines.
  • Provide production departments with material needed or requested in a timely and organized manner.
  • Unload customer material from crates, pallets and other shipping containers.
  • Follow safety procedures, ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
  • Perform equipment inspections and follow our 2-minute warning as part of our safety procedures.
  • Other tasks might be assigned as needed.
