Materials / Equipment Tech - Per Diem
About The Position
This healthcare technology related position is responsible for the distribution, cleaning, preparing, and managing durable medical equipment issued to patients in the medical center and performs these duties with minimal supervision under the responsibility of the Materials Manager. The incumbent is responsible for the retrieval, decontaminating, cleaning, inspection, storage, distribution and tracking of reusable devices used during medical treatment and diagnosis during the patients stay. Incumbent will be responsible for adherence to standards and regulations enforced by Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and governmental agencies.
Requirements
- Previous hospital experience in Sterile Processing and Distribution (SPD) or related Equipment Support Services (ESS) support role
- Knowledge of disinfection and sterilization processes
- High school graduate or equivalent
