This position will support day-to-day metallography laboratory (met lab) operations for United States Air Force (USAF) sustainment activities including additive manufacturing (AM), cold spray (CS), additive friction stir deposition (AFSD) and applied corrosion technologies. Primary job duties will include specimen preparation and characterization, operation of test equipment, incoming quality control inspection, assisting with metal powder inventory management, coordinating purchase orders and sample shipments, and supporting materials engineers with other project activities as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
3 or more years of directly related technical experience
Experience following instructions, exercising sound judgement, and exhibiting good work habits in the performance of assigned duties
Organizational skills
Attention to detail
Proficient with MS Office
Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen
5 additional years of direct related technical experience (8 total years minimum)
