About The Position

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with over 100 years of history. As a leading global woven textile mill, we design and produce fabrics for residential and contract markets, serving furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and major retailers. This role is for the 3rd shift and includes a shift premium. Additionally, there is an attendance bonus for perfect attendance every two weeks.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Must be able to discern colors and pass a color blindness test.
• Must be willing and able to work six to seven days per week when scheduled.
• Must have a license to operate PIT equipment. (i.e.cherry picker, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Stay current with all more filling calls.
• Help prevent looms from standing.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
• Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
• Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.
• Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job.
• Meet deadlines and production quotas.
• Get along with co-workers.
• Follow instructions, including shift start/stop times and breaks schedules.
• Work scheduled overtime.
• View computer monitor for more fill calls for assistance.
• Prioritize more fill calls when taking them out to the Weaveroom.
• Check to ensure correct lbs. are taken out.
• Make sure proper transactions are done in SAP as per ISO Work Instructions.
• Record more filling call/ticket filler in the computer.
• Keep the computer work area clean and floor swept.
• Perform other duties when needed or assigned by Supervisor.
• This includes all 5S assignments.
