About The Position

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with over 100 years of history, recognized as one of the world's largest woven textile mills. We specialize in designing and manufacturing residential and contract-grade fabrics for a diverse clientele including furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and major retailers. This role is for the 1st shift, with shift premiums available for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Additionally, a $50 attendance bonus is offered bi-weekly for perfect attendance, which can add an extra $0.62 to the hourly rate.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Must be able to discern colors and pass a color blindness test.
• Must be willing and able to work six to seven days per week when scheduled.
• Must have a license to operate PIT equipment. (i.e.cherry picker, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Stay current with all more filling calls.
• Help prevent looms from standing.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
• Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
• Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.
• Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job.
• Meet deadlines and production quotas.
• Get along with co-workers.
• Follow instructions, including shift start/stop times and breaks schedules.
• Work scheduled overtime.
• View computer monitor for more fill calls for assistance.
• Prioritize more fill calls when taking them out to the Weaveroom.
• Check to ensure correct lbs. are taken out.
• Make sure proper transactions are done in SAP as per ISO Work Instructions.
• Record more filling call/ticket filler in the computer.
• Keep the computer work area clean and floor swept.
• Perform other duties when needed or assigned by Supervisor.
• Complete all 5S assignments.
