About The Position

Yazaki is seeking a Materials & Chemical Management Engineer to join their Core EDS Engineering team in Canton, MI. This role focuses on designing, developing, documenting, and implementing processes and tools to ensure effective execution of customer deliverables within the Engineering organization. The engineer will also support adherence to these processes, facilitate expertise development through training programs, and provide technical support for existing production technologies to engineering groups for YNA customer programs globally. Responsibilities include evaluating validation and process development issues and directing resolutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Material Science discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience.
  • Microsoft Suite proficiency.
  • Ability to travel internationally roughly twice a year.
  • Must not require sponsorship for employment in the United States now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop corporate policies, processes, workflow diagrams, and other documentation to support Yazaki Product D&D teams.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Business Units to review and approve supplier change requests and register new materials.
  • Support Yazaki Corporate (YC) and Customer initiatives related to circular economy, recycled content requirements, and Product Carbon Footprint analysis.
  • Lead the implementation of new processes and procedures for engineering employees, providing management support.
  • Research organizational best practices in process areas and apply benchmarks to process re-design efforts.
  • Prepare and present information in group settings.
  • Act as a change agent by supporting initiatives and promoting the adoption of new processes, best practices, and tools.
  • Formulate training strategies and coordinate training material development and deployment.
  • Construct reports and graphical characterizations of key performance indicators to support oversight and facilitate improvement of critical functions/initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with global environmental requirements and serve as a resource and problem-solver.
  • Support tasks related to part registration and other administrative necessities to enable processes, customer deliverables, and business operations.
  • The Manager may assign other or additional responsibilities at their discretion.
