About The Position

The Materials Buyer - Direct supports supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality. The role builds knowledge of the company, its processes, and its customers; addresses a range of straightforward problems using standard procedures; and works with a moderate level of guidance and direction. The Buyer follows up on orders, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records while adhering to standard purchasing business processes. The role works with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, manage demand and supply, reduce inventory, and resolve supply issues.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
1–2 years of related experience.
Knowledge and experience in the relevant discipline, while continuing to develop higher-level knowledge and skills.
A solid understanding of the industry’s key business drivers.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex information to others.

Responsibilities

Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
Drive timely delivery and shipment of parts from suppliers to client factories, resolving shipment, receiving, and billing issues with suppliers.
Collaborate with suppliers on demand and supply.
Execute and manage supplier pull-ins and push-outs to meet MRP demand.
Drive inventory and Excess and Zero Demand (E&Z) reduction efforts.
Negotiate and execute purchases and requests for quotes (RFQs) to achieve the lowest cost while considering quality, source reliability, and urgency of need.
Drive resolution of supply problems with key stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and Program Managers, with support from Managers.
