About The Position

The Materials Buyer - Direct supports supply continuity so manufacturing can operate with speed and quality. The role requires knowledge and experience in its discipline while continuing to build higher-level skills and knowledge of the company, its processes, and its customers. The position handles straightforward problems by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, with a moderate level of guidance and direction.

The buyer follows standard purchasing processes, manages supplier orders and delivery, and partners with suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet material requirements. The role also supports cost, inventory, and supply-issue resolution efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
• Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
• Drive timely delivery and shipment of parts from suppliers to client factories, resolving shipment, receiving, and billing issues with suppliers.
• Partner with suppliers on demand and supply collaboration.
• Execute and manage supplier pull-ins and push-outs to meet MRP demand.
• Drive inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchases and RFQs to drive the lowest cost while considering quality, source reliability, and urgency of need.
• Drive resolution of supply issues with key stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and Program Managers, with support from managers.
