Materials Associate
About The Position
The Materials Associate is responsible for processing transactions accurately and timely related to the receiving of physical goods from suppliers, returned goods from customer departments, stock replenishments, and the filling of customer orders. This role utilizes a management system, PC, and RF scanner technologies for transaction processing. The associate will review and verify all documentation for thoroughness and accuracy, operate powered and non-powered equipment safely, and ensure goods are transported and stored properly to prevent damage. The position also involves supervising the receiving and distribution of equipment and supplies, ensuring secure handling and storage, removing non-functional items from service, and maintaining clean and orderly working and storage areas. Safety compliance with department, System, and OSHA regulations is paramount, along with performing good housekeeping and completing daily inspection checklists for powered equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Equivalent and related work experience preferred.
- Ability to work in patient care areas independently, often under stressful conditions.
- Ability to support multiple function areas during the shift.
- Requires lengthy periods of standing and walking.
- Frequently requires sitting, stooping and stretching to perform job duties.
- Requires frequent pushing and/or pulling of equipment and supplies.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to attend to several stimuli simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain emotional stability under stress.

- Depending on facility, position may require a valid driver's license (no violations in last 3 years).
Responsibilities

- Reviews and verifies all documentation throughout the process for thoroughness and accuracy.
- Operates all powered and non-powered equipment safely.
- Transports and stores all goods safely to prevent damage.
- Supervises the receiving and distribution of equipment and supplies.
- Ensures equipment and supplies are handled, stored, and maintained in a secure environment.
- Removes non-functional equipment and supplies from service and reports problems for corrective action.
- Inspects working and storage areas to ensure clean and orderly conditions.
- Works safely and complies with all department, System, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Performs good housekeeping.
- Completes and submits daily inspection checklists when using any powered piece of equipment.
