About The Position

The Materials and Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the physical flow of material from inbound receipt through manufacturing and outbound shipment. This includes receiving operations, inbound freight, outbound freight, carrier and brokerage relationship management, customs coordination, inventory management, cycle count execution, and many more critical functions to ensure that components arrive accurately and on time while meeting strict quality standards.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and hands on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a warehouse, materials, or logistics role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a regulated industry such as aerospace or medical.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of domestic and internation freight and customs processes including import/export documentation.
  • Experience with cycle counting and other critical inventory management programs.
  • Experience with ERP systems – experience with SAP or Odoo is highly desired.
  • Experience working with quality requirements and regulations (AS9100, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Own the receiving process, including the system receipt in the ERP system and successful handoff with the receiving inspection team.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through disciplined location management and proactively resolve location discrepancies.
  • Responsible for maintaining, refining, and executing against the cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with finance controls.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and initiate inventory adjustments following proper authorization procedures.
  • Manage the end of year physical inventory count process and partner with the finance team on the audit process, if necessary.
  • Own inbound and outbound freight management including carrier selection, booking shipments, tracking deliveries and exception management to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.
  • Manage customs, duties, and brokerage coordinate for imported and exported materials, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Support import/export compliance activities (ITAR/EAR) in coordination with the Sr. Supply Chain Manager.
  • Maintain clean ERP data to ensure item location, on hand quantity, handling requirements, and other critical attributes correctly drive signals.
  • Contribute to supply chain KPI reporting, including inventory accuracy, metrics, and inbound delivery performance.
