About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Materials and Inventory Supervisor to lead our warehouse and inventory operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement, storage, distribution, and management of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies that support our transit operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in inventory management, warehousing, procurement, and staff supervision, as well as a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service.

Requirements

  • Safety regulations and best practices related to warehouse operations.
  • Parts and materials used in vehicle maintenance and repair environments.
  • Inventory and business management software applications.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop staff in a collaborative environment.
  • Analyze inventory data, identify trends, and make sound recommendations.
  • Manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Exercise sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in materials management, inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
  • Possession of a valid and unrestricted California Class C Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate warehouse and inventory operations across multiple locations.
  • Lead and develop warehouse staff by providing direction, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, issuance, distribution, transfer, and inventory control of vehicle parts, materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Manage inventory replenishment activities, monitor stock levels, and coordinate forecasting efforts to maintain adequate inventory availability.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain warehouse policies, procedures, and operational controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory management systems and ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Coordinate and oversee cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Assist with vendor contracts and purchasing activities to ensure quality products and cost-effective solutions.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and enforce warehouse security protocols and inventory control measures.
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and procedures.
  • Prepare reports, analyze trends, and provide recommendations to improve warehouse and inventory operations.
