About The Position

Sensient is growing rapidly due to the Global Natural Color expansion! The Material Supply Chain Coordinator has responsibility for securing raw materials, equipment, supplies and services to maintain the operations of the St. Louis manufacturing facility in support of service expectations of all business units. This exciting role requires execution of both tactical and strategic elements of planning and purchasing to maximize service level to customers at minimum cost while maintaining the world class quality that is associated with Sensient’s brand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Three (3) years minimum experience in Procurement in order to acquire knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology of a profession, along with supplemental training.
  • Also beneficial is the acquired knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology of purchasing, traffic, and inventory control profession.

Nice To Haves

  • JD Edwards (JDE) experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Secure and plan the necessary raw material, equipment, supplies and services in an effort to meet/exceed service level objectives for both internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including demand, production planning, logistics, and finance to ensure alignment of material planning activities with overall business objectives.
  • Works cooperatively with internal Quality Control and regulatory group to achieve / maintain approval supplier status for both suppliers and individual materials and also provide information to support requests from these groups.
  • Maintains department records and validates pricing of invoices; partners with Sensient AP group to resolve issues with vendor invoices.
  • Coordinate with planning inventory targets for all raw materials; Meet Cash Conversion Cycle objectives associated with raw materials inventory levels.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to achieve departmental goals.
  • Analyze, maintain, generate, and support KPI expectations.
  • Coordinates with the planning coordinator for return of obsolete and surplus materials, return of rejected materials, and contacts vendors concerning billing errors.
