Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in manufacturing, supply chain, or relevant field and three (3) years of experience in shipping & receiving or inventory control; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing teams of three (3) or more preferred.
  • Effective team-builder who accomplishes objectives through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Experience dealing with heavy and oversized loads.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks, strong organizational & communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic warehouse management.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, supply chain, or relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock and working on FIFO.
  • Supervise the receiving process for incoming materials, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate the efficient handling and storage of materials, including proper labeling and organization within the warehouse.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure materials are available as needed, minimizing downtime and production delays.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to maintain product quality and compliance with company standards.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations within the warehouse and production areas to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Lead and train warehouse staff, providing guidance on the best practices for material handling and inventory management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in material flow and reduce waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, material usage, and production metrics, preparing reports for management as needed.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding material orders, delivery schedules, and any issues related to supply chain disruptions.
  • Address any issues related to material shortages, discrepancies, or logistical challenges in a timely manner.
  • Provide ongoing training for warehouse staff on technologies, processes, and safety procedures.
  • Work closely with other departments such as procurement, and production, to align material needs with overall business goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assists the Materials Manager to oversee employees assigned to their scope; and has some responsibility for hiring, firing, and conducts disciplinary actions and performance appraisals.
