About The Position

We are seeking a Material Stager, 2nd Shift to join our federal team at our York, PA (Grantly Plant) location. This job consists of performing all necessary functions to ensure prompt and accurate flow of material/items throughout the entire plant facility, with responsibility for timely delivery to point of usage. Requires performing all necessary functions required to receive, segregate, store, issue, deliver a variety of parts, materials throughout the manufacturing complex. Requirements

  • Read, write, add, subtract decimals, fractions, simple use of prints, move tickets, bills of materials, requisitions, CRT transactions.
  • Certified forklift, pendent control overhead crane operator.
  • Accuracy in identifying, counting, maintaining records.
  • Diversified work. Duties to coordinate material flow.
  • Identify, receive, collect, issue, move materials, supplies within department, load, unload trucks, properly store, process paperwork.
  • Judgment required to plan, make general decisions within prescribed operations, procedural limitations.
  • Moderate physical effort working continuously with light weights or frequently with average weight materials.
  • Continuous mental, visual attention required where work is to store, issue materials, process paperwork.
  • Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to fumes, oil, dirt, outside weather conditions, to the extent of being objectionable.

Responsibilities

  • Performing all necessary functions to ensure prompt and accurate flow of material/items throughout the entire plant facility, with responsibility for timely delivery to point of usage.
  • Performing all necessary functions required to receive, segregate, store, issue, deliver a variety of parts, materials throughout the manufacturing complex.
  • Working from drawings, orders, bills of materials/lading, move tickets, schedules, route sheets or instructions.
  • Receiving, load/unload vehicles, verify quantities, identify materials/items, collect, expedite, store, assign bin/surge locations, maintain accurate records, report incorrect quantities or damaged materials/items to proper supervision, other functions related to material receiving, storing, delivering.
  • Performing all necessary storekeeping functions required in yard verify incoming/outgoing items, report obvious damages or shortages, maintain all records, logs required and assist yard crane operator.
  • Dismantling components, cut scrap to acceptable size for salvage, remove steel blast residue from blast equipment, issue containers to accumulate containers from areas throughout the manufacturing complex.
  • Proper loading/unloading of vehicle, placing/removing protective coverings, preventive maintenance of equipment used.
  • Transporting personnel.
  • Using fork/squeeze lift truck, hand truck, trucks, pendant controlled or job crane, racker stacker, other appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Using measuring scales, gauges, weight scale, hand and hand powered tools, and CRT.
  • Using automobile, platform scales, hand tools, cutting torch.
  • Being aware of and having an understanding of the Health & Safety Policy. Incorporating Health and Safety concepts when carrying out procedures and work tasks.
  • Being aware of and having an understanding of the Environmental Policy.
