About The Position

Caterpillar’s Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is hiring Material Specialists to perform material handling and warehousing functions. The work includes receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping parts, materials, equipment, and supplies. Depending on the position, equipment used may include order pickers, reach trucks, and sit-down forklifts; not all positions require operating equipment. Material Specialists also use handheld scanners to access and update information for receiving, counting, and order processing, perform housekeeping, and report defects or repair needs. Other duties may be assigned by management. The position requires following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment, working effectively with a team, maintaining reliable attendance, and adapting to changing temperatures and work assignments. Employees may need to work overtime, including mandatory overtime, and learn processes in multiple areas. The role involves repetitive physical activity, including lifting and carrying, walking, sitting, standing, squatting, and bending, as well as working on equipment at heights up to 30 feet. The listed AWS schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shift availability can vary, and there may be a substantial wait before a requested shift becomes available. Starting wage is $20.96 per hour, with a $1 per hour differential specified for third shift. Employment offers are conditional on completion of pre-employment screening, including background and drug screening and medical clearance. Relocation reimbursement is not offered.

Requirements

Be willing to learn processes and procedures in multiple areas and to be trained to operate material-handling equipment where required.

Perform quality checks accurately and follow verbal and written instructions.
Perform basic math and a variety of clerical functions as needed.
Have demonstrated longevity of at least six months in previous employment.
Be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds individually, walk approximately 10 to 12 miles per day, and sit, stand, squat, and bend repetitively throughout the shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Be comfortable working on equipment at heights up to 30 feet.
Pass the required pre-employment screenings, including background and drug screening and post-offer medical clearance.

Responsibilities
