About The Position

The Materials Specialist is responsible for ensuring that production schedules, deadlines, and quotas are met by managing the flow of materials, components, tooling, and documentation across departments. This role involves collaborating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues, fulfill rush orders, and maintain efficient operations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software or related systems.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in production control, materials management, or a related field, with a solid understanding of scheduling processes and inventory control.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze product orders and contracts to understand deadlines, production quotas, and material requirements.
  • Draft, revise, and distribute production schedules while addressing labor or material shortages and other operational challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure timely supply of materials, components, tools, and paperwork.
  • Work with clients, suppliers, and delivery firms to discuss timelines, address inquiries, and coordinate shipping activities.
  • Identify problems in workflows, recommend solutions, and implement necessary modifications to enhance efficiency across departments.
  • Investigate product defects and implement corrective action plans to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain records related to production data and performance, including inventory levels and quality control analytics.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly inventory levels, requisitioning additional supplies as needed to fulfill work orders.
  • Coordinate production and shipping activities, resolving any issues or delays through effective collaboration with staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal safety regulations and policies related to materials handling.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and supply chain operations.
