About The Position

The Materials Services Coordinator II reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This role is responsible for preparing, issuing, delivering, checking, and documenting linen and medical/surgical supplies provided by Materials Management. It involves issuing supplies and equipment from storerooms, central sterile processing, and vendor source shipments, as well as labeling products for charging and identification, and placing them into appropriate storage locations. The position also includes replenishing Materials Management departmental inventories, accurately counting and maintaining supply and linen levels, and responding to customer requests for supplies and linen needs via various communication methods. The role requires completing work from previous shifts, maintaining a clean and orderly work area, performing routine assessments for expired products, taking inventory, and requesting needed items. It utilizes manual and automated systems for ordering, recording activity, and issuing credits, and maintains accurate logs and records. The position involves rotating through various MSC II assignments for cross-training and dispensing/delivering materials via tube system, elevator, or hand/power equipment. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or acceptable equivalent

  • At least 1 year experience w/ materials handling, preferably in a Healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, issuing, delivering, checking, and documenting linen and medical/surgical supplies provided by Materials Management.
  • Issuing supplies and equipment from storeroom, central sterile processing and vendor source shipments.
  • Labeling/identifying products as needed for charging and identification, and placing into appropriate storage locations.
  • Replenishing Materials Management departmental inventories.
  • Accurately counting and maintaining supply & linen levels as established by management.
  • Responding to customer requests for supplies and linen needs (verbal, written, phone, pager or Power Chart).
  • Completing work from previous shift to accommodate department schedules.
  • Maintaining clean and orderly work area, demonstrating ownership over assigned route.
  • Performing routine assessment for expired product and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Taking inventory of linen and supplies, and requesting needed items through in-house or vendor systems.
  • Using manual and automated systems to place orders, record activity, and issue credits.
  • Maintaining accurate logs & records for all processes.
  • Rotating through various MSC II assignments as needed for cross-training.
  • Dispensing and delivering materials via tube system elevator, and/or using hand, or power equipment.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
