About The Position

The Material Review Board (MRB) Engineer supports Operations by evaluating and dispositioning discrepant parts on the production floor and procured components. The engineer dispositions defects and oversees planning, repair, and/or acceptance of flight articles. The role leads internal and external technical discussions to assess part conditions and repair capabilities, working with drive system design, stress, and fatigue engineering groups, production supervisors, and managers to assess parts and ensure approved MRB documents are followed and repairs are performed correctly. The engineer also participates in factory and supplier root-cause corrective action teams to help reduce recurring defects. The successful candidate is expected to become an MRB board member certified to disposition non-conforming drive system components, including gears, bearings, shafts, housings, and supporting components. This includes designing original repairs, such as bushings, sleeves, or liners, based on fit, form, and function at the next assembly. The candidate is also expected to join the Planning Review Board, review and approve fabrication planning, and provide repair dispositions for Controlled Items, including Primary, Critical, and Flight Safety Parts. Additional work includes cross-functional engineering support, interpreting designs for manufacturing and production teams, and supporting new and existing program development and improvements. This is an onsite position at Bell’s Drive Systems Center in Grand Prairie, Texas. Bell states that relocation assistance is not available for this role.
