About The Position

The Material Program Manager (MPM) within the ASDS portfolio, SSPS business unit in Tucson, Arizona, bridges the Supply Chain and Program teams by managing materials provided by suppliers. The MPM is responsible for shaping, developing, and executing the strategies and objectives of the product line to meet cost, quality, and scheduled targets for the program and business unit, ensuring that products are delivered on time to numerous end customers. This role involves leading projects, managing budgets, and resolving issues and conflicts within a fast-paced environment. The supplier network includes small to large businesses, IOT partners, and major subcontractors. The MPM must possess excellent time management/prioritization skills, strong communication abilities (written, verbal, and presentation), leadership capabilities, and the ability to work effectively in a matrixed IPT environment. A self-starter capable of achieving organizational and program objectives and interfacing with all levels of internal and supplier management is essential.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience with material requirements planning (MRP) processes.
  • Minimum 4 years in a supply chain role.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance may be required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1.
  • DoD Clearance: Secret.

Nice To Haves

  • Supply chain experience in the defense industry.
  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager for Material.
  • Estimate at Complete (EACs) and Material Forecasting experience.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Planning tools (i.e. SAP, Power Bi, Kinaxis RapidResponse).
  • Experience using and creating pivot tables in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure suppliers support Program needs, risks are mitigated, and efficiencies identified.
  • Act as the catalyst for program execution of Supplier Engagement Strategy activities, ensuring appropriate budget, resource, schedule, and execution.
  • Manage the supplier’s backlog and ensure requirements are prioritized appropriately and made visible.
  • Responsible for the collection and analysis of performance metrics, and development of Estimate at Completion (EAC).
  • Collaborate, influence, and communicate with Program Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Factory organization departments, Contracts, Customers, and other support functions to manage restart requirements, production requirements, material challenges, and competing priorities.
  • Apply knowledge of principles, concepts, industry practices, and standards related to MRP planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, and other next-generation ERP systems).
  • Work closely with program and partnering functions to ensure successful supplier management and execution in support of program needs and requirements.
  • Communicate and translate SRP requirements to suppliers.
  • Support supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity, and risk.
  • Provide status by preparing and presenting slides and files during team tag-ups, daily/weekly program meetings, and monthly program & customer reviews.
  • Participate in weekly supplier engagements to ensure required performance is met.
  • Develop and execute Risk/Opportunity plans to meet program responsibilities & proactively manage mitigation plans.
  • Participate in program/engineering reviews and change boards and CN reviews and approval.
  • Maintain and assess the integrity of the MRP environment and the programs’ schedule within that environment while balancing supply and demand to allow for an executable schedule including the MPP.
  • Facilitate resolution of product non-conformances.
  • Facilitate necessary product and process changes through collaboration with suppliers and Engineering/Quality.
  • Overall ownership of the supplier and finance management process (i.e., Risk/Opportunity, Line of Balance, Metrics, Material sales forecasts).
  • Assist procurement with supplier Request for Proposals / Quotes (RFP’s / RFQ’s).
  • Proactively address and complete urgent supply chain tasking (Purchase Requisitions integrity, Supplier Statement of Work (SSOW), Purchase Order follow up).
  • Travel to suppliers as needed.
  • Be MPM Level 4 Certified or to be completed within 12 months of hiring date.
