About The Position

Caterpillar is seeking a Material Planning Supervisor in Sanford, North Carolina, to support its Compact Track Loader (CTL) manufacturing factory. The role is accountable for ensuring a continuous flow of components from suppliers to logistics and manufacturing operations, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and leading a team of material planners. The position involves day-to-day material planning to support production and ensure parts arrive on time, as well as leading proactive problem solving and improvement projects. The supervisor owns escalations involving critical suppliers and production risks, manages shortages and supplier recovery, and contributes to companywide control tower meetings focused on material allocation across Caterpillar facilities. Successful performance requires material planning and MRP knowledge, shortage and supplier management, root-cause problem solving, cross-functional communication, and people leadership and development. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain or logistics, experience in a high-velocity manufacturing or logistics environment, and knowledge of industry benchmarks and process and technology trends may also be advantageous. The summary pay range is $89,210 to $133,810. Benefits are subject to plan eligibility, terms, and guidelines. Visa sponsorship is not available. Requirements

Knowledge of material planning and MRP, including supply chain management functions, principles, and techniques.
Ability to develop and use strategies, practices, and tools to control logistical processes.
Ability to use planning parameters, inventory levels, and MRP systems to ensure parts availability.
Ability to identify shortages early and collaborate with purchasing on supplier performance and recovery plans.
Problem-solving ability, including root-cause identification, corrective action, and prevention of recurring issues.
Ability to communicate across suppliers, logistics, transportation, and operations.
People leadership ability, including prioritizing work, coaching performance, and balancing and coordinating workloads.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
