About The Position

Neapco is hiring a Material Planning & Logistics Supervisor for its Belleville, Michigan location. Reporting to the Material Planning & Logistics Superintendent, this position oversees material flow, material-handling personnel, shipping and receiving, inventory records, and production job schedules. The supervisor leads cross-shift teams and supports safety, quality, and process-improvement initiatives. Compensation depends on qualifications.

Requirements

Excellent judgment and decision-making ability.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
Sound understanding of MRP functional flows and requirement generation.
Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a focus in Supply Chain Management; candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Experience supervising a unionized workforce in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
Experience with the Plex ERP system and customer portals Covisint and eSupplierConnect is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree focused on Supply Chain Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure the efficient flow of material in support of established production schedules.
Schedule UAW-represented material-handling personnel.
Lead cross-shift team meetings and stand-downs.
Maintain employee time and attendance records in the Plex ERP system for payroll processing and attendance tracking.
Provide formal forklift instruction and practical training, evaluate employee performance, and issue material-handling equipment certification.
Direct and oversee shipping and receiving activities.
Schedule outbound freight to comply with operations and capacity.
Verify proper labels and tickets are applied before shipping.
Ensure shipping and receiving documents are accurate.
Maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory records in the Plex ERP system.
Ensure shipping counts match picking documents.
Verify physical rack inventory matches records in customer systems.
Communicate shipping schedules to customers.
Participate in cycle counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
Maintain production job schedules.
Eliminate waste through safety, quality, and MP&L process-improvement initiatives.
