About The Position

The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels and scheduling / appropriating /expediting / forecasting / requisitioning spare part demand to support the airline and aircraft heavy check MRO operations, and associated service levels, while minimizing inventory on-hand.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to change and adapt in a rapidly paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous airline / aviation experience preferred.
  • College degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Previous purchasing and/or inventory planning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively review stocking and usage levels.
  • Research part requirement details, including available alternates, higher assemblies, alternate sources of supply, and other options to provide the best response.
  • Update and maintain part master records including alternate part numbers to maintain complete accuracy.
  • Analyze supply chain activity including purchases, repairs, loans, material movement, and scrap.
  • Identify material shortages below safety stock.
  • Pro-actively monitor loan and borrow activity, MEL, CDL, and NEF item activity, and other key departmental metrics.
  • Identify alternative parts including PMA and coordinate with Engineering on approvals.
  • Communicate recognized safety issues promptly to management in accordance with company SMS policy.
  • All other duties as reasonably requested by the Manager of Heavy MX Materials or Director of Materials
