About The Position

The Material Planner will be responsible for coordinating the material plan and the resources required to support production. They will contribute to the ongoing maintenance and integrity of MRP planning factors, and must understand the impact of those factors on the production process. The Material Planner will also coordinate and collaborate with internal customers and management to implement actions to support production planning.

Requirements

Grade XII combined with post-secondary education or 6-10 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with Microsoft Access.
Experience with MRP II or ERP systems.

ASCM CPIM (APICS) education desirable; applicant can be enrolled and working towards certification fulfillment

Responsibilities

On-time release of manufacturing orders to the shop floor.
Continuous maintenance and validation of the material plans; balancing the supply, demand and capacity relationship; action MRP system generated exception messages.
Create and maintain reports to monitor work in progress, shelf-life inventory, serialization requirements, alignment to KPIs, etc.
Identify and react to bottleneck resources or supply gaps and coordinate between functional areas to resolve the bottleneck situation.
Conduct meetings to coordinate cross-functional efforts to achieve on-time completion of manufacturing orders in support of customer ship dates.
Perform data analysis to optimize planning parameters to assist in the maintenance of a doable material plan (cycle times, lead times, batch sizes, inventory levels).
