About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Material Planner to join their Operations – Supply Chain team. This role is crucial for coordinating material availability to meet production schedules, customer requirements, and On-Time Delivery (OTD) goals. The Material Planner will collaborate with various internal teams (Supply Chain, Production, Shipping, Quality, Sales) and external vendors to ensure timely visibility of material availability, identify delivery risks, and track order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, independent, comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and possesses strong communication and analytical skills. This position is based at Silvus Technologies' headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA, with a hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2+ years of planning, procurement, or logistics experience.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or Mathematics.
  • Knowledge of BOM structures, MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing planning processes.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal teams including production, planning, purchasing, logistics, and customer service to ensure material availability aligns with customer demand and production schedules.
  • Track incoming shipments and proactively follow up on delayed or at-risk deliveries with buyers, suppliers, and freight carriers.
  • Monitor material requirements and inventory levels to minimize production disruptions and support On-Time Delivery (OTD).
  • Collaborate with buyers to identify and proactively communicate supply shortages, scheduling conflicts, and delivery delays to internal teams, and escalate critical issues to the Supply Chain Manager as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings to review priorities, risks, and action plans.
  • Maintain accurate planning reports, delivery schedules, and material status updates to ensure on-time delivery of materials required for production and customer shipments.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP and internal planning tools to make informed decisions on material availability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, purchasing, inventory management, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
