About The Position

As a Material Planner, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor North America Supply Chain team working as an on-site employee. You’ll be responsible for the procurement of component and turnkey outdoor power equipment parts to support the distribution and production departments through interaction with our ERP and demand planning systems. You will review and analyze component item requirements and make the necessary procurement decisions in Infor XA MRP and finished good item requirements and forecasts using service life-cycle management software. You will communicate with suppliers, both internal and external, to resolve performance issues (i.e. quality, delivery, compliance). You will also assist in managing obsolete/excess inventory, ensure the integrity of the SKU record data, and act as a liaison between corporate PMM group, Serviceability group, and Shelby Operations. Additionally, you will participate in the new product development process in bringing new product to market, ensuring that material is on hand to support pilot and production target dates. You will communicate and perform necessary actions for at-risk items as part of the Sales and Operations Planning process. Key metrics include customer fill rate, inventory turns, and inventory value. You will also work on various material flow related projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or in the process of attaining a degree or two or more years experience in purchasing or material procurement is preferred.
  • CPIM certification a plus.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Intermediate PC skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ERP System, WMS system, and Demand Planning System.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work, contribute and succeed in a team environment.
