About The Position

Organizes, plans, and schedules, and oversees open die production to ensure that processing procedures are carried out according to specifications. Employees are required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret shop travelers, drawings and procedures and WI (work instruction).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before managers or other Company employees.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule with minimal absences.
  • Ability to work weekends to support open die throughput plan and company targets.
  • Ability to calculate time and amounts such as time at temperature, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • 1+ years in Planning/Scheduling/Manufacturing.

  • Forging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reads production demand, forging processes, and/or traveler instructions to determine processing and furnace specifications.
  • Observes processing of material through the presses and compares information with the schedule to ensure compliance with processing specifications; informs supervisor of deviations from processing instructions; and documents problems, procedures and production.
  • Time tracking and record keeping of DPR data, downtime, operation time, and non-conformance.
  • Post transactions into Syteline.
  • Coordinates cross functionally with maintenance to schedule repairs, down time, or calibrations of furnaces and/or presses.
  • Reports tooling issues to engineering.
  • Schedule for 1st and 2nd shift.
  • Work weekend as required to meet production goals.
  • Escalates deviations from production schedule with proposed corrective actions.
  • Prepares daily and weekly production schedule to ensure company targets are achieved.
  • Completes DPR (Daily Production Report) and furnace light up sheets.
  • Identifies tooling or material shortages and follows up with management or supervisor.
  • Fill in for reporting on TOC Line-walks.
  • Writes MRR’s for non-conforming product.
