Material Planner

CrusoeArvada, CO
$95,000 - $115,000

About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a Material Planner to ensure the production schedule is materially feasible across assigned commodities. This role involves working directly from the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and released Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) to run MRP, maintain Clear-to-Build (CTB) status, proactively manage shortages, and oversee the day-to-day supplier forecast and commitment cadence to maintain supply and demand synchronization. The Material Planner acts as the operational link between production planning, physical inventory, and strategic sourcing. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of MRP logic, values data accuracy, and can identify material constraints in advance to prevent production impacts. This is a Full-Time position.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of dedicated experience in material planning, MRP execution, or supply/demand planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Working knowledge of MRP logic, complex BOM structures, and ERP planning modules (e.g., Acumatica or similar systems).
  • Comfort working directly with suppliers to communicate rolling forecasts and secure firm delivery/capacity commitments.
  • Strong Excel and data manipulation skills to manage shortage tracking, CTB models, and net-requirement feeds for Procurement.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS / ASCM certification, such as CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management).
  • Experience in hardware manufacturing, data center infrastructure, or complex equipment assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience using Acumatica ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Run MRP and BOM explosions against the MPS, netting gross requirements against on-hand, on-order, and in-transit material.
  • Maintain and refresh CTB coverage status by SKU and work center for assigned commodity areas on a standing cadence.
  • Identify potential material shortages well ahead of floor execution, escalating to Strategic Sourcing/Procurement for expedite or dual-sourcing actions while tracking mitigation status.
  • Share rolling forecasts with suppliers, secure lead-time and capacity commitments, and feed commits back into MRP within negotiated commercial frameworks.
  • Set and maintain item-level ERP planning parameters (order policy, lot sizing, lead times, safety stock, make/buy flags, and time fences) at MBOM release.
  • Partner with Materials Management to reconcile ERP balances against physical stock, maintaining ABC usage classification data by part number.
  • Represent the material and CTB constraint view during monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) reconciliations.
