About The Position

The Material & Logistics Specialist reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of material flow within the facility, including receiving, inventory control, warehousing, and shipping operations. This role works closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Warehouse Management to ensure accurate inventory, efficient logistics execution, and on-time delivery to customers. The position plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, data integrity within the ERP system, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
2–5+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) strongly preferred
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) preferred
Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a warehouse environment
Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with safety standards
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation
Basic understanding of inventory control, shipping/receiving processes, and material handling practices
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
Ability to read and interpret English-language documents, including safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
Ability to prepare routine reports and written correspondence with accuracy and clarity
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in presentations, with customers and employees at all levels of the organization
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including discounts, percentages, proportions, area, and volume
Knowledge of Word Processing software, Excel spreadsheets, ERP operating system software, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of material flow, inventory control, and logistics operations
Proficiency with ERP systems (inventory transactions, shipping/receiving, BOMs)
Knowledge of transportation methods (TL, LTL, air freight) and carrier selection
Ability to operate and inspect forklifts and material handling equipment safely
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills
Effective communication and collaboration across departments
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

Manage the safe and accurate movement of materials into, within, and out of the facility using ERP systems (BOMs, routers, and inventory transactions).
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Production teams to ensure timely availability of materials to support manufacturing schedules.
Execute order picking, packing, and shipping of finished goods in accordance with customer specifications and company standards.
Arrange and coordinate transportation logistics (TL, LTL, and air freight), ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
Generate and maintain all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and system transactions.
Oversee staging, verification, and loading of outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy against pick lists and customer requirements.
Perform receiving activities, including inspection, verification, and accurate entry of materials into the ERP system.
Monitor and audit inventory transactions to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance with internal controls.
Maintain warehouse organization and inventory accountability, ensuring materials are properly stored and easily accessible.
Support cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities to maintain system accuracy.
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and storage areas (5S standards).
Communicate proactively with Supply Chain and leadership regarding shipment status, delays, and operational challenges.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and represent warehouse/logistics operations as needed.
Perform additional duties and support continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
Develop working knowledge of ERP functions to create and manage BOMs/routers as needed.
Serve as a backup to Warehouse and Supply Chain leadership, supporting operational continuity.
Carries out these managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Assist in process improvements related to inventory control, material flow, and logistics efficiency.
Support training of team members on warehouse processes, safety practices, and ERP usage.
