Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Materials Lead located in Columbia, SC. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager the Materials Lead is responsible for tracking product information in order to keep businesses and supply chains on schedule for production lines. Ensure proper scheduling and record keeping for materials moved within operations. Participates in work related to receiving, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies within operation areas. Works with independence in carrying out duties with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Office Skills: typing, telephones, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation package and database systems.
  • Skills required: electronic scales, pallet jack, measuring tools, and alignment tools.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional's journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and coordinating the work of subordinates involved in material movement across different operation areas.
  • Ensuring proper scheduling & record keeping for materials moved within operations area.
  • Compiling reports on various aspects of changes in production which affects materials feeds to production lines.
  • Finding, sorting, or moving goods between different parts of the business.
  • Overseeing workers’ schedules, estimating costs, keeping track of materials, and writing special orders for new materials.
  • Performing general office tasks, such as entering data or distributing mail.
  • Receiving, unpacking, and using hand-held scanners to keep track of merchandise within different production areas.
  • Weighing, measuring, checking, sampling, and keeping records on materials, supplies, and equipment that enters operations area.
  • Verifying the quantity and quality of items provided on production line, checking for defects and recording what they find.
