About The Position

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Material Handling Utility. The Material Handling Utility position consists of, but is not limited to, the operations of shipping cranes, forklifts, banding coils, packaging coils both with an automated wrapping machine and by hand, assisting in the loading of rail cars, barges and trucks, general housekeeping of the department, or a variety of other tasks related to the successful operation of the shipping department. The Material Handling Utility position requires flexibility to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, holidays, night shifts and weekends. This shift is a 4 on and 4 off shift schedule. This greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Requirements

Basic math and computer skills required to accurately complete inventory transactions.
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, or successfully obtain authorization/certification to do so.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience operating forklift, overhead crane, or other mobile equipment.
