About The Position

Auto Warehousing (AWC) is hiring a full-time Material Handling Support at their Baltimore Fairfield location (Curtis Bay area). The shift is days, Monday-Friday, with a start date around June 15th, including paid training prior to the project start. This position offers competitive weekly pay and a supportive work environment. The primary objective is to support daily production by supplying materials, breaking down and disposing of dunnage, and disposing of waste materials. This role involves close collaboration with hourly associates, AWC staff, customers, and supplier representatives. Duties may evolve over time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months experience or vocational education in manufacturing and assembly
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to utilize handheld radio
  • Ability to function effectively under pressure
  • Ability to pass driver's safety test at 80% or better
  • Good visual ability

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the breakdown, disposition, and removal of disposable production dunnage
  • Separate non-recyclable materials and debris from recyclable materials
  • Break down cardboard dunnage and prepare for bundling
  • Separate cardboard dunnage from wood pallets
  • Load cardboard into the bailer until it reaches full capacity
  • Cycle the bailer machine and manually band cardboard dunnage for pickup
  • Utilize a pallet jack to replenish Zone 2 production with bulk load floor production materials
  • Produce the appropriate level of primed fiberglass panels for production
  • Utilize VIPS to determine the appropriate type, color, and quantity of panels to produce
  • Prepare workstation and mix primer at the beginning of the shift
  • Obtain the appropriate panel from inventory and inspect for quality defects
  • Report all defects to the department supervisor
  • Clean and prepare surfaces, and apply primer
  • Deliver completed panels to Zone 2 of the production area
  • Assemble and replenish Kitting Carts to the appropriate production area
  • Obtain work order from each vehicle and verify the VIN against the work order
  • Determine build type and appropriate Kitting Cart
  • Deliver Kitting Cart to the designated area in the proper work station
  • Monitor production area and return cart to the materials department
  • Restock lower shelving area with bulk material, utilizing a pallet jack
  • Dispose of unused airbags properly
  • Unload small lot materials from shipping containers onto inventory racks
