About The Position

Join Life Fitness / Hammer Strength as a Lead Material Handler and play a key role in supporting daily material flow operations that keep production running efficiently. In this hands-on leadership position, you'll coordinate receiving, replenishment, inventory movement, and assembly line support while helping team members succeed through training, communication, and continuous improvement efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while collaborating with production, warehouse, and quality teams to solve problems, improve processes, and ensure materials are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using Oracle and Ultriva systems.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and barcode scanning technology.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse, materials management, logistics, or production support processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree.
  • At least one year of leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, materials, or production environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily material handling activities, including receiving, warehouse distribution, replenishment, and delivery of materials to assembly lines.
  • Provide direction, training, and task-specific instruction to material handling associates on processes, equipment, safety standards, and work instructions.
  • Monitor incoming materials and inventory flow to support production schedules and customer demand.
  • Ensure assembly lines receive the correct materials accurately and on time.
  • Partner with Quality teams to address material failures, shortages, discrepancies, and component-related concerns.
  • Document and communicate inventory issues, quality concerns, and material flow challenges.
  • Lead daily team huddles, improvement discussions, and other group meetings.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and supervisors to support workflow, communication, and production priorities.
  • Utilize Oracle, Ultriva, ERP systems, and barcode scanning technology to support material tracking and inventory accuracy.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Support supervisors with performance feedback and corrective action discussions as needed.
  • Promote continuous improvement through problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
