About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Material Handling Lead to support daily warehouse and material handling operations within our Dyersburg facility. This role is responsible for coordinating material flow, supporting receiving and inventory activities, ensuring materials are delivered to production on time, and serving as a technical resource for the material handling team. The Material Handling Lead is a working leader who provides daily direction, training, and support to material handlers while actively participating in warehouse operations. This position partners closely with Production, Supply Chain, Planning, Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Quality teams to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
  • Working knowledge of safe rigging, lifting, crane operation, and warehouse safety requirements.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, inventory management software, and warehouse transaction processes, preferably Syteline CSI.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and support team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing production requirements.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to safety, quality, service, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated success supporting inventory accuracy, productivity improvements, and operational efficiency initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience serving as a lead, coordinator, trainer, or informal team leader preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control practices, material flow, and inventory accuracy processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement methodologies, and warehouse best practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment across all warehouse, receiving, inventory, and material handling activities.
  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to material handlers to ensure efficient workflow and execution of priorities.
  • Coordinate receiving, storage, replenishment, and delivery of materials to support production schedules.
  • Actively partner with production supervisors and managers to monitor build schedules and material requirements.
  • Perform and support receiving, put-away, inventory transactions, material movements, and warehouse activities as needed.
  • Utilize ERP system (Syteline CSI) to process and maintain accurate inventory transactions and material traceability.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, discrepancy resolution, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Track and communicate warehouse performance metrics, including inventory accuracy, material availability, and productivity.
  • Coordinate packaging, crating, and shipment preparation for customer orders, replacement parts, and internal transfers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse organization, material flow, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Train and onboard team members on standard work, safety requirements, material handling procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and 5S standards throughout the facility.
  • Support safe operation and maintenance of forklifts, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Successfully complete training and competency requirements for internal certifications including Overhead Bridge Crane Operation, Forklift, Scissor Lift, and Reach Stacker operation.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
