Material Handling Laborer
About The Position
Challenge Unlimited is seeking a Material Handling Laborer to transport or store materials or merchandise. This role performs physical tasks to transport or store materials or merchandise, safely operates equipment, and contributes to teamwork by training and helping co-workers. The position requires communication with supervisors, implementation of feedback for improvement, and a focus on safety, quality, and customer service. The pay rate is $17.75 per hour. The shift is Off Sunday and Wednesday, working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 am until the job is complete. This is a part-time position located at the Fort Hood Commissary, Fort Hood, TX.
Requirements
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must pass various State and Federal Registry checks.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical tasks to transport or store materials or merchandise, including manually loading or unloading freight cars, trucks, or other transporting devices; unpacking, shelving, or placing items in proper storage locations; or transporting goods by hand truck/pallet jack or cart.
- Maintain quality control standards per work assigned and help maintain quality for the team.
- Promptly correct any deficiencies within the scope of this job and inform supervision of any customer complaints.
- Maintain records related to job tasks and communicate changes to team members and supervision to coordinate workflows and satisfy needs to perform the work.
- Help team members in other roles when directed by supervision, such as shelf stocking or janitorial, by logging/clocking into a different job category and applicable pay rate for the other job.
- Perform work according to the contract’s statement of work, company policies, and procedures with a special focus on safety, quality, and customer service.
- Follow schedules and/or task assignments as directed.
- Help communicate job expectations to new hires or others in need of assistance.
- Assist with training and helping co-workers.
- Report issues and needs to Project Manager.
