About The Position

The non-exempt job classification is covered under The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) and the contract’s collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f), unless otherwise modified by a CBA between labor and management. Under direct supervision, performs physical tasks to transport or store MTE items or materials. Duties involve one or more of the following: manually loading or unloading freight cars, trucks, or other transporting devices; unpacking, or placing items in proper staging or storage locations; or transporting goods by hand truck or cart.

Requirements

  • Two years of work experience with one year in the general supply field or logistics field.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend supply related instructions, military regulations, publications and apply requirements to job duties.
  • Must be capable of entering data on computer forms and have basic computer skills.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license and obtain a military driver’s license within 30 days.
  • May be required to obtain a security clearance and/or a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced data entry experience.
  • Familiar with the Army or military Logistics Information Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in unloading and staging MTE receipts/shipments for inspection.
  • Sorts, bands, and stretch wraps USPS MTE for storage or shipment.
  • Stages outgoing MTE shipments.
  • Assists in the loading of MTE for shipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for conforming to all safe work practices and procedures to include Job Assessment Planning and Stop Work Authority.
  • Perform general housekeeping functions for a safe work environment.
