About The Position

The Material Handling 2 role will work in a fast-paced team environment bringing material into the factory and shipping finished product to our customers all over the world. This position is responsible for receiving raw material and purchased product from our suppliers, transporting goods throughout the factory, packaging of finished hardware to ensure safe and timely delivery to our customers. Individuals must be quality oriented, able to work well in a team environment, and maintain a safe and clean work environment. 1st shift hours: Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm

Requirements

  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Experience using computer systems for inventory transactions and label generation.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and identify materials based on markings, labels, or color codes.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using an ERP system; SAP experience is preferred.
  • Prior training in shipping regulations, hazardous/dangerous goods packaging, and government or international shipments.
  • Skills in label creation, proper label application, and shipment packing.
  • Hazmat certification.
  • Experience with government packaging requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a variety of material handling/packaging equipment
  • Identify correct parts, components, wires and other materials by part markings, color codes, container labels, etc.
  • Utilize desktop instructions, parts lists, forms, & other work instructions to complete tasks
  • Perform bulk counting utilizing various methods
  • Fill orders per requirements
  • Follow proper material handling and packaging techniques to avoid damage
  • Utilize computer systems and printers (e.g. recording inventory transactions, generate labels, labor charging)
  • Conduct area cycle counts and record results
  • Unpack, verify condition of material, count & receive incoming materials
  • Package & prepare materials and completed products for shipping
  • Distribute material to internal plant locations
  • Maintain appropriate levels of packaging supplies
  • Recognize & take steps to resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed
  • Train other employees & perform other duties as assigned
