About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of raw materials throughout the production process. Responsibilities include material management, equipment operation and maintenance, quality control, inventory management, and housekeeping. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using an ERP or inventory management system preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or material handling experience preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate material levels at injection molding presses and dryer hoppers.
  • Load, mix, and prepare materials according to established process specifications.
  • Ensure all materials and containers are accurately identified and properly labeled.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to transport raw materials.
  • Deliver and load materials into presses and dryer hoppers in a timely manner.
  • Perform material changeovers, including inventory movement and basic machine maintenance.
  • Inspect raw materials for accuracy, contamination, and quality issues.
  • Perform daily and monthly preventive maintenance on dryer equipment in accordance with TPS policies and procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe production and storage areas using good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform inventory transactions within the ERP system, including material movement, inventory adjustments, and cycle counts as required.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and comply with applicable ISO standards and quality system requirements.
  • Assist with other production and warehouse duties as assigned.
