About The Position

Flowserve Cookeville seeks a dedicated Material Handler to support our valve production facility. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, safety, and quality. This role is ideal for someone who is punctual, self‑motivated, and able to work independently while maintaining a strong work ethic. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, packaging and unpackaging materials, stocking and pulling parts, and supporting all receiving and shipping functions. We are seeking someone who brings exceptional attention to detail, maintains clear and legible documentation, and contributes positively to our production flow—all while delivering exemplary service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • General warehouse experience, including forklift operation.
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends and evenings.

  • Ability to understand logistics and material handling terminology.

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally buddy‑lift or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Basic computer skills, including effective navigation of Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity or working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • HS Diploma / GED and/or 2 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks and handle packaging and unpackaging of materials to support daily receiving and shipping activities.
  • Pull parts and materials for valve assembly and ensure they are delivered accurately and on time to support production needs.
  • Stock materials in designated storage locations and pull additional parts as needed for work orders, shipments, and other operational requirements.
  • Perform all receiving functions, including verifying bills of lading and packing lists, inspecting and recording incoming materials, identifying damaged goods, resolving discrepancies, and completing ERP receipts with accurate documentation.
  • Prepare outbound shipments by verifying accuracy, properly packaging materials, and completing all required documentation.
  • Transfer completed work orders to shipping and support all operations associated with receiving, pulling, and shipping product.
  • Maintain organized work areas and follow all warehouse procedures, housekeeping standards, and safety requirements.
  • Provide exemplary service to internal and external customers through timely, accurate, and proactive support.
  • Take initiative to assist with daily work cell needs, contribute to continuous improvement, and help solve problems as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
