About The Position

Receives, stores, and distributes products within the warehouse. This role involves reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. The Material Handler conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas, sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence, and picks customer orders from stock, placing them on pallets or shelves or conveying them to the packing station or shipping department. The position also requires marking materials with identifying information, opening crates and containers, coordinating warehouse activities, crosstraining in various warehouse facets and potentially other departments, completing general housekeeping duties, and maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school education.
Forklift Certification
Attention to detail
Forklift operation

Responsibilities

Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
Marks materials with identifying information.
Opens crates and other containers.
Coordinate warehouse activities with warehouse leader and office teams.
Crosstrain in all facets of the warehouse and potentially other departments.
Complete general housekeeping duties to maintain a continuously safe and clean work environment.
Maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
