Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the receipt, storage, movement, issuance, and control of materials required to support manufacturing operations. This position ensures materials are available to production when needed, maintains accurate inventory transactions, and supports on-time delivery and operational efficiency through effective material handling practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment or obtain certification.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse, stockroom, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and inventory control processes preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies.
- Issue materials to manufacturing work orders and production personnel.
- Move materials between stockroom, warehouse, and production areas using approved material handling equipment.
- Perform inventory transactions in the ERP/MRP system to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventories.
- Verify material identification, traceability, and proper documentation.
- Maintain organized storage locations and ensure material is properly labeled and protected from damage.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures related to material handling, storage, and inventory control.
- Follow all safety policies and operating procedures.
- Assist with continuous improvement activities related to warehouse and material flow processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
