About The Position

This role operates within an operational team, with primary activities in the warehouse and/or cleanroom. The Material Handler acts as a coordinator and/or foreman for colleagues and the team lead. They interface with shop floor employees, the team lead, supporting operational departments, and other ASML logistic departments. The position requires understanding tasks and procedures within the operational flow to oversee and optimize work processes, with the ability to solve disturbances in the operational flow. The role works under the regular supervision of the Team-lead regarding progress and results and may act as a delegate for the Team-lead.

Requirements

Secondary trade school education level 3 or 4.
Thorough experience within logistics.
Ability to work in a dynamic practical environment and perform well under pressure.
Ability to work independently.
Acts as a flexible team player.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Creates personnel planning on an operational level for a specific shift, ensuring sufficient capacity to deliver required output.
Acts and coordinates based on foreseeable demand and requested changes from operational planning departments.
Identifies and solves disturbances in their own sub-flow (e.g., damaged product, administrative errors).
Escalates disturbance issues that require cross-departmental alignment (e.g., with quality or warehousing engineers).
Sets priorities and informs the shop floor about these priorities to drive timely task completion.
Assists more junior material handlers with questions on performing operational tasks.
Oversees and analyzes the quality flow for irregularities and shares findings with the team lead.
Takes responsibility for the 5S+1 principle by inspecting their workstation using a checklist to ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
Informs and instructs material handlers on agreed changes in safety policies.
Prepares and may act as a delegate of the team lead in Performance Management Meetings.
Acts on shared feedback by analyzing trends to develop solutions.
Proposes improvements and initiates the implementation of small, operationally focused improvements.
Keeps track of operational planning and adjusts capacity to prevent bottlenecks and meet demand output.
Co-owns Daily Performance Management (DPM) letters with a peer material handler by performing Pareto analyses and identifying improvements.
Participates by executing assigned project tasks within the operational flow and/or leads departmental projects by coordinating project tasks within the team.
Identifies, owns, and drives projects at the departmental level.
Joins improvement events of customers, such as pressure cookers or value stream maps.
Identifies project benefits and reports them to the team lead.
Coordinates the onboarding of new team members.
Keeps records of the performance (skills/competency) of on-the-job training activities for team members and informs team leads of deviations.
Observes and evaluates the development of team members during and post-training activities with team leads to ensure knowledge transfer and self-efficiency.
Acts as a contact person for all employees on the shop floor.
Potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage, and currents.
