About The Position

OBE contributes architectural glass and building products to projects globally, shaping how people live, work, heal, learn, and play. With over 6,500 employees and more than 80 manufacturing and distribution facilities in five countries, OBE offers a significant impact through its work. The Material Handler I role focuses on moving materials, including glass and/or metal, throughout the plant to expedite product flow. This involves on/off-loading products from various sources like tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates. The position reports to the Production Supervisor and is ideal for an individual with attention to detail, a strong work ethic, reliability, and problem-solving skills. It is a vital role within the Production Departments, offering an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high.
• Prior work history in a plant facility that is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).

Responsibilities

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Reads work orders and follows job standards for safety, quality and production.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure.
