About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of raw materials, finished parts, and supplies throughout facilities. This role plays a key part in keeping production running smoothly by ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time — accurately documented and properly stored.

Requirements

  • Safety-first orientation in all material handling, forklift, and shop floor activities
  • Valid forklift license required, or ability to obtain within first 30 days of employment
  • Ability to navigate the Plex ERP system for transaction entry and documentation; basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Accurate documentation of material locations, quantities and movement transactions
  • Collaborative team player; works effectively across production, shipping, and warehouse teams
  • Willingness to cross-train across multiple functions and flex as production needs shift
  • Basic understanding of finishing, heat treating, and plating processes
  • Ability to count, measure, and record material quantities accurately
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 months of material handling experience and/or related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid forklift operator license, or demonstrated ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Plex ERP system

Responsibilities

  • Locates raw materials from the warehouse marshalling area to the proper location in the storage racks after it has been properly audited and received.
  • Documents the location of each skid of material.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas and enters transactions into Plex ERP system.
  • Restocks unused raw material and records the quantity returned on proper documents into Plex ERP system.
  • Removes parts from the production area and conveys parts to the proper location for their next step in the process.
  • Removes scrap from the production area and dumps it into the proper containers.
  • Stores empty parts pans, barrels, or containers in their designated location.
  • Prepares and delivers cardboard boxes to the production area as required.
  • Operates an industrial truck to load or move materials and products.
  • Cross trains in other areas such as shipping, packing, material handling or truck driving.
