About The Position

The 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday 5:00am-2:00pm, Friday 5:00am-9:00am, Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the warehouse and production environment during the evening hours. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products accurately and in a timely manner to support manufacturing and shipping operations. The role requires close coordination with inventory control, production teams, and shipping departments to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent production delays. The Material Handler will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall operational efficiency and success of the organization by managing materials effectively during the second shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or material handling role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain).
  • Basic computer skills to use inventory management systems and communicate via email.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or other relevant material handling equipment certifications.
  • Experience working the 2nd shift or other non-standard shifts.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Previous experience with cycle counting and inventory control procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Store materials in designated locations and maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
  • Pick and stage materials for production and shipping according to daily schedules and work orders.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move products within the facility.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and storage areas to comply with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve material discrepancies and improve workflow processes.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or inventory issues promptly to management.
