About The Position

Stanley Black & Decker is hiring a Material Handler for its East Longmeadow, Massachusetts team. The role supports high-volume production by handling bin-to-bin transactions and physically moving material to and from production and various machines. The Material Handler also performs cycle counts and is accountable for inventory accuracy.

Requirements

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain a very high level of attention to detail.
Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new systems and procedures.
Detail-oriented, self-confident, assured, tactful, and supportive.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
High school diploma or GED.

Experience with a WMS.

Responsibilities

Put incoming material into its assigned location, total coil tags, and determine whether they match the SU quantity.
Perform incoming inspections to confirm material matches the SU and coil tag.
Perform daily power-truck inspections on the narrow-aisle truck and Barrett truck.
Pick coils for band orders.
Return pieces of coils from prior days’ bands to their locations.
Pull material for coil-wind orders.
Perform cycle counts as material is dropped to SFG from Loc1.
Perform prescribed 5S duties for the assigned area.
Pick STO orders for weld centers as needed.
Pick palletized orders for weld centers as needed.
Work with other focus factories to resolve material shortages or overages and correct inventory.
Request material from other storage locations.
Move material to the shipping dock.
Perform Loc1 cycle counts.
Print labels for coil travelers.
Maintain overall inventory accuracy.
