This position directly supports the Material Mixing function by unloading railcars of Polyethylene resin using a vacuum transport system. The resin is pulled into a silo then blown into a 1000 kg IBC. The IBC are labeled, scanned and loaded onto a semi-trailer to be sent to our Apple Valley manufacturing facility for further processing.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Ability to become certified in: Forklift Operation
  • Required OSHA Training

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes daily activities and aligns actions to support overall function and business strategy.

  • In conjunction with leadership, provides input on individual performance objectives that are aligned with the functional and business strategy.
  • Performance consistent with the high performance standards set by the organization.
  • Load resin into IBC (use of control panel to regulate flow) and transport resin to staging area via Forklift; performs accurate labeling and necessary inventory transactions in HighJump inventory software.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Safely maneuvers all released product throughout manufacturing facility (using a forklift) to support filling of IBC and loading of dedicated semi-trailer after all product has been verified for accuracy.
  • Uses scanner to locate inventory accurately.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including dock area.
  • Performs inventory transactions and box labeling requirements, paying attention to details to ensure accuracy.
  • Effectively communicates with the supervisor of the mixing and tooling group as well as with Railroad representatives to coordinate railcar transport; Helps keep railcar inventory stocked.
  • Maintains accurate records in railway inventory system.
  • Connects rail car compartments to vacuum transport system.
  • Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives.
