About The Position
Teknor Apex is seeking a Material Handler to operate production equipment, maintain safety standards, and manage raw materials. This role involves ensuring materials are properly stored, labeled, and utilized according to FIFO and shelf-life procedures. The Material Handler will also be responsible for housekeeping, preparing orders for shipment, and completing necessary training.
Requirements
- High School or G.E.D.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment as outlined in SOP’s and batch cards.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with all established safety rules and policies.
- Keep all partial bags of material sealed.
- Replace missing labels on raw materials.
- Place raw materials in the correct location.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping and mopping racks daily and keeping the oil house organized.
- Follow First In First Out (FIFO) procedures when sending up raw materials.
- Follow all shelf-life procedures.
- Properly empty drums and dispose of them properly.
- Complete DOT Hazardous Material Training.
- Send up raw materials to blender loaders and compounders.
- Pull and prepare raw material distribution orders (DO) for shipment to other Teknor plants.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by Production Supervisor or Leadman.
