About The Position

The Material Handler position at Marathon Equipment, part of Environmental Solutions Group, is responsible for unloading trucks, verifying material against packing slips, and transferring materials to production areas using a forklift. This role also assists with company inventories, maintains parts inventory, and utilizes the RFGen system for inventory management. The position operates within a plant environment with potential exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School diploma or GED.
  • Requires ability to understand general arithmetic.
  • Ability to write in an understandable manner.
  • Understand verbal or written instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials.
  • Use PC based applications, including Mainstar, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.
  • Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.
  • Requires walking/standing approximately 70%, lifting up to 40 lbs. approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 10% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.
  • Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and to record written information.
  • Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to hear for safety purposes.
  • Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.

Responsibilities

  • Unload trucks and check in material against packing slips to ensure complete and accurate.
  • Transfer material from Receiving to Production areas with forklift.
  • Assist in preparing and planning for company inventories.
  • Participate in physical company inventories.
  • Transfer inventory with RFGen to maintain location and inventory levels.
  • Maintain and control parts inventory.
  • Drive a forklift and pass certification course.
  • Use RFGen system.
  • Read and decipher packing slip information.
  • Lift minimum of 40 pounds repetitively.
  • Performs other various duties as may be assigned.
